Members of bmi Diamond Club have been expecting the announcement for some time now. Lufthansa’ chief executive, Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, announced that Diamond Club will be merged with Miles & More to be completed by 2011. Lufthansa has had a controlling interest in bmi since 2009. As with other similar mergers, Diamond Club members will keep their miles and will be given equivalent elite status in Miles & More.
