The Luckiest Loser

The Luckiest Loser

When Hilton HHonors announced it was increasing the number of points required for award stays, IHG Priority Club set out to find the member who had the most Hilton HHonors points as part of its “Luckiest Loser” competition. The grand prizewinner has been identified and Charles Rosenay of Orange, Conn. has received two million Priority Club points. He had a verified HHonors balance of nearly five million points, surpassing 114 other “HHonors millionaires” in the competition. We caught up with the winner while he was in Cancun on a combination of work and leisure. Rosenay holds elite status with both Hilton HHonors and IHG Priority Club and participates in several frequent flyer programs. He uses a rewards credit card for business and personal purchases, in addition to always looking out online for offers and free giveaways to earn points.

He says he “will definitely make it more of a priority to stay at Holiday Inn or Crowne Plaza hotels, where I’ve stayed regularly in the past, whenever possible. Winning Luckiest Loser really helped IHG win me over even more.”

As a business traveler who spends about 100 days of the year on the road, he travels frequently to Liverpool to lead tours for Beatles fans. “Aside from being a Beatles fan and leading those tours, I also have a horror travel business that includes GHOSTours to the U.K. and Scotland and a Dracula Tour to Transylvania where I bring along the family.” He plans to redeem the points for a flat screen TV and bedroom sets for his three children. Congratulations to Charles and all the other Priority Club members who received points from the Luckiest Loser contest.
