Delta's Sky Priority

Delta's Sky Priority

Delta SkyMiles has introduced Sky Priority, which the airline says is designed to improve elite members’ experience at the airport. The Sky Priority benefits are offered to all Diamond, Platinum and Gold Medallion elite members, SkyTeam Elite Plus members and travelers flying in business elite, first and business class. Sky Priority benefits include dedicated check-in areas to expedite the check-in process, accelerated security lanes at select airports, priority boarding and baggage handling and an exclusive reservation line. Elite members who check-in online and do not receive an upgrade will be given a coupon for a complimentary beverage or in-flight snack that will be printed on their boarding pass. Visit http://www.delta.com/skypriority for more information.

Bottom line: For the most part, Sky Priority consists of benefits that SkyMiles elite members already receive, but there are a few additional benefits, such as zone 1 boarding for Sky Priority members (Medallion members used to board the plane after BusinessElite and first class passengers) and a complimentary snack or drink if you don’t get an upgrade. A few members commented that they would have liked free Internet access to be offered as part of the package. “We are still working on that part … no timelines to report,” responded SkyMilesInsider on FlyerTalk.

Of great importance for SkyMiles members is another comment made on FlyerTalk by SkyMilesInsider, “We will monitor your comments, encourage your feedback on our surveys and will be looking at the numbers very closely in the initial weeks.”
