Continental and Alaska

Continental and Alaska

Effective Oct. 25, 2009, just one day after Continental Airlines leaves the SkyTeam Alliance to join the Star Alliance, the partnership between Continental and Alaska Airlines, Horizon Air and American Eagle Airlines will end. OnePass members can continue to earn miles through Oct. 24, 2009, on flights operated by Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air, as well as Continental codeshare flights operated by American Eagle connecting through Los Angeles to or from Fresno, Monterey, San Diego or Santa Barbara.

OnePass award reservations for travel on these carriers must be confirmed and ticketed by Oct. 24, 2009, and are valid one year from the date issued.

On Alaska’s Web site it states that the last day to earn miles on a Continental flight is Oct. 24, 2009, and for mileage credit for flights taken prior to that date, you should contact Alaska’s customer care at (800) 654-5669.

And of great concern to frequent flyers, regarding airport lounge access, the details have not been finalized. Updates are promised here: http://insideflyerus.wpengine.com/link/?1736
