Tracking Miles and Points

Tracking Miles and Points

In last month’s WiseFlyer, InsideFlyer editor Randy Petersen outlined a number of mileage tracking Web sites available to frequent flyers. In the past month, a new program launched at www.acruw.com that has a few interesting features. Similar to other available tracking programs, you enter your loyalty program numbers and passwords into a secure, encrypted database and acruw.com will track your account balances. The program will also give you an estimated expiration date based on the day of your last activity, track your progress toward elite status qualification or renewal and provide a link to current promotions. And coming soon is the ability to request email alerts when your miles and points are about to expire.

The Web site will also estimate the dollar value of your miles and points to help you decide whether you should pay for an airline ticket or hotel stay with cash or loyalty currency. Acruw.com is in beta stage and currently tracks the miles and points of 14 major North American carriers, seven U.S.-based hotel loyalty programs, seven credit card programs and Hertz rental car program.
