The folks at Starwood have been busy lately coming up with new offers. We wrote about SPG Flights in the last issue of InsideFlyer, and now the program has introduced a fall promotion that has an interesting twist–you get to choose your own promotion. There are 12 offers available and the choices vary by the number of nights or stays required and awards offered. Selections include bonus points, free weekend nights, double points for nights or stays, gift cards and stays that count double towards elite status. After you register for a promotion, you are not allowed to change your offer and some of the offers require as many as 20 nights to qualify.

If you aren’t sure whether you will be staying often at Starwood hotels during the promotional period, Oct. 1 through Dec. 31, 2008, your best bet might be to choose to earn double points on all stays with no limit to the number of points you can earn and no minimum night or stay requirements. For members with a number of Starwood stays planned, you can choose to earn 25,000 bonus points for 10 stays or 20 nights (up to a maximum of 100,000 points). To qualify for the promotion, you will need to register online at http://www.spg.com/choose by Nov. 15, 2008.
