As we reported in our August issue, Marriott is working with boutique hotel innovator, Ian Schrager, to create a boutique hotel brand for Marriott. Recently, the name of the boutique brand was announced — Edition. The first Edition hotel is expected to open in 2010. The first hotels built will be in Paris, Madrid, South Beach in Miami, Chicago, Washington, D.C., Costa Rica, Los Angeles and Scottsdale, Ariz. Other agreements are in the works for more Edition hotels in the U.S., Europe and Caribbean. The hotels will have an average size of 150 to 200 guest rooms.
