Amtrak Guest Rewards members can now buy and gift points through a new partnership with Points.com. Members will be able to buy or gift points through the AmtrakGuestRewards.com Web site at the cost of $.0275 per point in increments of 500 points. There is a $15 transaction fee, but for a limited time through May 31, 2008, the transaction fee will be waived. There are no taxes added. Each transaction cannot exceed 10,000 points and the yearly limit a member can purchase or receive as a gift per calendar year is 10,000 points.
