US Airways Award Changes

US Airways Award Changes

All one-way upgrades within the contiguous U.S., Canada and Alaska will require 15,000 miles in the US Airways Dividend Miles program (up from 10,000 miles) when traveling on less than full-fare. And all one-way upgrade awards between the contiguous U.S., Canada and Alaska and the Caribbean, Central America, Mexico or Hawaii will require 17,500 miles (up from 15,000 miles).

The mileage requirement for upgrade awards between the contiguous U.S., Canada, Caribbean, Central America, Hawaii, Alaska, or Mexico and Europe will remain the same at 30,000 miles one-way. Additionally, it is no longer necessary to purchase a Y/B/M/H/Q class ticket in order to qualify for a transatlantic mileage upgrade.

Qualifying transatlantic tickets will include roundtrip tickets with a gross value equal or greater than $1,200, and one-way tickets with a gross value equal or greater than $600. The gross value of a ticket is calculated as the base fare plus taxes, facility surcharges and fees levied by US Airways.
