When we wrote about the Amtrak Guest Rewards program a few months ago, members were not able to redeem Amtrak travel awards online. Amtrak has recently added travel redemption to its Web site and members can now redeem points online for one-way trips with no transfers; a roundtrip award requires two reservations. For complicated itineraries that include sleeping accommodations and travel on the Auto Train, members will have to call the service center. After redeeming points, members may choose to have their tickets mailed to them or pick up their tickets at a Quik-Trak machine or any staffed station.
