DHS and Frequent Flyers

New legislation that is expected to be introduced next year states that visitors from 22 Western European countries will be required to register their travel plans 48 hours before departing for the United States, CNN reports. The Passenger Name Record (PNR) data will be sent directly to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and will be used as a screening tool at U.S. borders. The DHS will collect 19 types of PNR data which will include the passenger’s “frequent flyer” information.
