Members of Starwood Preferred Guest can now take advantage of Cash & Points award redemption for higher-category hotels. Members can pay $90 plus 4,800 Starpoints a night for category 5 hotels or $150 plus 8,000 Starpoints for category 6 hotels. In the past, only category 1-4 hotels were available with a Cash & Points award option. Category 7 hotels are still not available with Cash & Points. Also of note, these awards will be available on an ongoing basis instead of quarterly, making booking easier with the new flexibility.
