The top five most expensive hotel stays in the United States are in New York City, Boston (ranked 11th worldwide; $272 night), San Francisco (ranked 13th worldwide; $268 night), Chicago (ranked 17th world wide; $263 night) and Philadelphia (ranked 42nd worldwide; $185 night).
