There is a new Marriott Rewards Platinum Visa card for Canadian residents. Cardholders will earn three Marriott Rewards points for every Canadian dollar spent at Marriott locations worldwide and one point per Canadian dollar for all other daily card purchases. There is a one-time enrollment bonus of 5,000 points after the first card purchase and cardholders will automatically be upgraded to Silver Elite membership in the Marriott Rewards program. Marriott and Chase have partnered together in the U.S. since 1987, but this is the first such partnership in Canada.
