Through Aug. 31, SkyMiles members can transfer the equivalent of 20,000 SkyMiles in partner points from Diners Club, Choice Privileges, Hyatt Gold Passport, Marriott Rewards, InterContinental Priority Club Rewards, Radisson Gold Rewards, Sofitel Privilege, Starwood Preferred Guest or Trip- Rewards and receive a nice little 5,000-mile bonus.
Of course, the number of points that must be transferred to earn the bonus varies by partner. For example, Hyatt Gold Passport members would have to transfer 60,000 Gold Passport points, while Marriott Rewards members need only transfer 30,000 points in exchange for 25,000 SkyMiles.
If you’re a Starwood Preferred Guest member, you’re probably asking, “But I can always earn a 5,000-mile bonus when I transfer 20,000 points to Delta, so how does this benefit me?” In addition to the 5,000-mile bonus from SkyMiles, Preferred Guest members will receive the normal 5,000-Starpoint bonus from Preferred Guest for transferring 20,000 points, which means during the promotional period, 20,000 Starwood Preferred Guest points actually convert to 30,000 Delta SkyMiles.
In case you’ve forgotten, 25,000 miles is enough for a roundtrip award ticket to anywhere Delta flies in the continental U.S., Alaska and Canada. To begin the transfer, members must register online at http://www.delta.com/skymiles, then call the appropriate SkyMiles partner by Aug. 31 to initiate the transfer.
