American AAdvantage Reduced Mileage Awards that are offered to Citi / AAdvantage members are now available as one-way flights. Previously, members booking a Reduced Mileage Award were required to redeem miles for a roundtrip flight. Members will still need to call reservations to book a ticket and pay the phone ticketing fee of $25 (waived for AAdvantage Executive Platinum and AAirpass customers).

Destinations offered for fewer miles will also change more frequently. Formerly, the award destinations changed quarterly but are now updated every month at http://insideflyerus.wpengine.com/link/?9194

Discounted destinations are listed by month and you can currently book awards for travel through September 2013, when you can travel for fewer miles to destinations such as Newark, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, Atlanta, Detroit, Calgary and Toronto, to name a few of the possible destinations.

The mileage discount for Reduced Mileage Awards is 5,000 miles roundtrip or 2,500 miles one way or 7,500 miles roundtrip or 3,750 miles one way, depending on your card.
