The first Radisson Blu hotel in the U.S. is opening this month in Chicago. The Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel Chicago is housed in the first 18 floors of Chicago’s newest skyscraper, the 81-story “Aqua”, and features views of Lake Michigan and the Chicago skyline. WiFi will be free, you’ll have a choice of room styles and even basic rooms will feature a balcony with about half of the 338 rooms featuring a balcony. The extra-large fitness center features a half basketball court, there’s a jogging trail outside and a game room with a billiards table and media screening room. The restaurant, called Filini, will feature a marble martini bar and offer sidewalk dining in the warmer months.
The Radisson Blu in Chicago will be a Category 6 hotel, requiring 50,000 points for a free night. A second Radisson Blu is being built at the Mall of America near Minneapolis, not far from Carlson’s headquarters.
