The 2007 Elite Choice program allows United Mileage Plus members to choose special awards over the course of the year. Members who earned 35,000 Elite Qualifying Miles (EQM) or 40 Elite Qualifying Segments (EQS) as of March 1, 2007, could choose from 10 chances to win United’s Shanghai Sweepstakes, $50 in retaurant.com certificates, $50 off e-certificate, $50 off when transferring miles or $60 off United Vacations packages. Other award choices were offered at 75,000 EQM/85 EQS level; at the 125,000 EQM/125 EQS level and the 225,000 EQM/225 EQS level; such as being able to carry forward EQM into 2008 or a $250 Neiman Marcus gift card. In addition at the three highest EQM levels, members can nominate a friend, family member or business associate for elite status. Members will receive up to four opportunities to choose their favorite awards throughout 2007. Mileage Plus members should register online by Oct. 15, 2007.

Northwest WorldPerks has a similar program for its 2007 Gold and Platinum members. The following ExtraPerks awards are available for these members who earn 60,000 EQM: 2,500 bonus miles, two WorldClubs day passes, 10 bonus Sweepstakes entries or $50 Marriott Bonus Bucks coupons. Other award offers are available at 90,000 EQM, 120,000 EQM and 160,000 EQM featuring such options as 30,000 bonus miles and two one-way confirmed system-wide upgrades.
