American AAdvantage has launched the Join Us Web site at http://joinus.aa.com – which showcases the various charities that the airline supports. Members of American AAdvantage can learn how they can earn miles through charitable giving as well as donate miles.

For example, members can earn miles when buying American Airlines Gift Cards. Until the end of this year, AAdvantage members who buy a gift card can designate “Komen” in the tracking code box when purchasing the card online and American will donate $5 for every $50 you purchase (10 percent) to help support Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

American Gift Cards are available in denominations from $50 to $1,500 and can be applied toward the purchase of any published fare on American Airlines, American Eagle or AmericanConnection carrier, or any oneworld partner or codeshare flight (designated as AA). There is no expiration date for the gift cards and the purchase of the AA/Komen gift card can be delivered via email with your personal message to the recipient.
