KLM Implements Online Check-in

KLM passengers in the UK can now use the Internet to check-in for flights departing from London Heathrow, following the successful trial of the service in The Netherlands.

The new feature makes check-in even quicker and more efficient for passengers, who can even select their own seat for their flight on the Web site. Customers can further avoid the queues by using the self-service check-in kiosks to obtain their boarding card. KLM is planning to roll the new service out to its 13 other UK airports beginning Dec. 1.

Internet check-in is available between 30 hours and one hour prior to departure to customers traveling with carry-on luggage only. The service is available to passengers using e-tickets on flights with KLM and partner airlines on journeys to and via Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.

Additionally, members of KLM’s Flying Dutchman frequent flyer program can earn 200 bonus miles every time they check in using the new service until Oct. 31.
