Why are comments about United being censored?

With unlimited space for those who want to share fond stories about united, there is no reason to be censoring anyone’s comments- everyone is free to comment, respond and rebut. It is the airlines fault that almost 100 percent of the news about air travel is abysmal. Comments about OHare are political, really?

Nothing is being censored. Nothing is being deleted. Threads are being consolidated into larger threads for easier forum reading.

I don't have much to say, but you can usually find me saying it here.

That is obviously not true. Your initial complaint was about volume. I took time off and encouraged people with good things to say about United to let it rip. Didn’t see much. Then you said the comments were too broad and then I narrowed them. Now you are labeling and concealing comments on a space with infinite room and very few posts (because the cartel destroyed frequent flyer programs for all but a few which was the initial purpose of IF). Obviously some here are close to United officialdom-which is your right.
If the news about air travel is depressing that’s the fault of the cartel. If someone doesn’t want to read something here that’s there right. There is some reason to believe that as the truth is laid bare here and elsewhere the cartel is feeling the heat. With no one holding them to account elsewhere, these bully boys have shown they are extremely thin skinned about the disgusting ofdeal they call air travel. They spent millions to take down the Untied website because it committed the high crime of telling the truth about the airlines in the midst of so much censorship. Hopefully we can continue a robust analysis that the cartel or the media or the comatose government will hear and act on. By the way criticism of Trump or Obama or whomever is also central to getting to the epicenter of post merger aerial hell.

You're right. I'm a member of a secret cartel trying to subvert efforts to uncover the truth about United, Trump, Obama and the air cartel. Please don't tell anyone my secret.

People should be left to make their own judgments. United can certainly dissemble, deflect and distort on its own-it is world class in that area, in fact.

They are left to make their own judgment. All of your comments are still visible, just consolidated into a single thread. I can leave longer redirects in place so they appear on the front page of the forum longer.

Ed, i thought we spoke about this and made a pact (or was it a bet) that we would never revel any information about the secret cartel.

Now, you and I both know that to drag the rest of the industry into a conversation about United would not be considered in good taste. BTW, will you be submitting @ahappyelite for membership consideration into the aforesaid secret cartel?

As for "... disgusting ofdeal they call air travel.", I'm on record that 97.3% of my 6,500 + flights in my life were actually pleasant in my experience. Those that weren't I blame on fellow passengers and that i didn't look at SeatExpert to choose the right seat to begin with. Oh, and a few of the flights that were not pleasant were because of me. Yep, there have been times where i actually made mistakes causing some unpleasantness. Here's my humble public apology to any fellow passengers on those flights when frankly—I messed up. (examples might have been when i relaxed my seatback too fast and forgot to turn around and give a heads up to the passenger behind me. Or when i really, really had to go and had to wake up a sleeping aisle passenger to let me out to visit the loo, or that time when .... **I'd rather not peel back all my discretions).

Anyway, Google records everything as does the length of these threads, which means there really is no need to keep repeating ourselves about the truth that is laid bare. Point being ... Google will penalize InsideFlyer if you keep repeating the same thing over and over and over. It's called duplicate content. Let's have new conversations, not old ones.

But truly, thanks for trying to help @Pizzaman, you're not too bad for a cartel guy.

Have a great day and for what it's worth ... behind this post is a guy that loves what he does for frequent flyers, so contact me anytime.

Appreciate the candor. Google is obviously first and foremost a sales engine which is why if you google “why are fares so high high” you will get search results “low fares” with sales sites. Anyone can try it: for all the negative experiences people have with airlines-Google goes to great lengths to hide the sorry state of air travel. By now, there should be thousands of easily accessible post merger stories Googlable, but try to find them and you won’t.

Actually and this might be a stretch, could it factually be that airfares haven't actually risen? #justsayin When I Googled your hypothesis that Google is hiding the fact that airfares have risen and they report only links to sales sites, I have a different result. It lead me to factual resource information that indicates that airfares are cheaper now than ever on a *constant dollar comparison. And if you wanted to go to the argument about *current dollars, Google doesn't hide that and in fact that information is within the top two returned search results.

AND. contrary to your assessment, neither of the top two results from my search for why air fares are so high include sales links to low fares. So while your own personal research has given rise the the conspiracy theory you are putting forth, the X Files* (*my explanation of all this) also indicates Google may not be a party to all the woes of the negative experiences people have with airlines.

And really, if you ever heard the story about the guy that was dragged off a United flight (Flight 3411) back in April ... you can thank Google for exposing that incident to millions upon millions of people who would never had heard about that experience in air travel. But then again, maybe it did not happen because "Google goes to great lengths to hide the sorry state of air travel", let's ask Dr. Dao if that was hidden.

Point being and I'm trying to humor you just a little, appreciation that others can have pleasant experiences with travel are not to be thrown shade by those who experience just the opposite. Repeating the broken record of each is simply not what reads well on the Internet. What reads well is the individual experiences posted once and left for others to find—that's what Google and InsideFlyer are actually for.
