Best VPN when traveling
I was wondering if someone uses a VPN when traveling and if so, which one you think is the best. I'm currently using PureVPN and I am quite happy about it, but it doesn't seem to be working on my mac and the Belgian server (the one I need the most) is quite awful. I had a look at ExpressVPN but it seemed quite expensive... Do you have any other suggestion?
I use VyprVPN and it works great. No throttling of speeds and bypasses many gov't firewalls overseas

Just happy to be a Sapphire and a Ivory, whatever that means....

MilePoint needs a icon!
I use HideMyAss and it worked better than others when I did my free trials. It has multiple Belgian locations.
As for Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, they are pretty much on top of the VPN issue... Unfortunately.

I have tried PureVPN and found them to be an absolute waste of money. I presently use unlocator.com which seems to work well with Hulu, Amazon, CNNGo and other paid subscriptions but I have not tried it recently with Netflix. Unlocator only charged me $38 per year for DNS masking which I consider very inexpensive. This is not their VPN service as VPN solutions can absorb bandwidth.
There is a new product that claims to be able to bypass all of Netflix´s attempts to restrict access. It´s called Turbobeacon (turbobeacon.com) but I have not yet verified this claim.
Another company getflix.com.au claims their service can bypass Netflix blocks.
These companies typically tell you how to configure your router using their DNS servers so it shouldn´t make any difference from where you connect.
I use express VPN. I like that it lets you put your phone and tablet as well as your computer for no extra charge. I have no problems with Netflix or Hulu on this VPN.
Freedom of movement across frontiers in either direction, and inside frontiers as well, was a part of our heritage. I've been using ExpressVPN since the first of the year to access my home DVR so I can watch recorded news programs each day, as well as download entertainment for when I'm on train/plane, and have been happy so far. I'm accessing U.S. servers from Germany, Austria and Prague so far without any issues. Forget to activate the VPN on startup and my cable provider blocks me from downloading/viewing, though it will let me delete content that's out of date.
I did run some tests from home with Netflix and it recognized I wasn't properly logging in and blocked me (might have been an error referring to proxy settings). That was using U.S. servers while in the U.S. I just downloaded a bunch of content before leaving home and haven't tried to access them outside the U.S. as I have more content now than I could possibly watch.
I'm using it on a Samsung tablet and a Samsung phone.
