Zurich Airport set for new hotel projects:)

Zurich Airport is to see new hotels, conference and event facilities and restaurants added as part of a 200,000sqm development slated for completion by 2017.

Billed as “the first global location with the ambience of a small town and the synergies of a big city”, The Circle at Zurich Airport will be located adjacent to the airport and will be designed by Japanese architectural firm, Riken Yamamoto & Field Shop.

The development will feature “seven autonomous modules which will feature globally recognised luxury hotel brands, conference and event facilities, restaurants and a health and beauty centre complete with outpatient clinic”.
Hotel, serviced apartment and events space will take up 38,000sqm of the complex. Partner brands have yet to be announced, but a press release says visitors will be offered a choice of premium and budget hotels, with around 500 rooms in total.

There will also be 160 retail outlets, including 60 shops airside, 58 landside, and 42 restaurants and bars, as well as office space and a health and beauty module offering services including medical diagnostics, dentistry, cosmetic surgery and spa treatments.
