You've all been just wonderful helping to test the limits of our new technology and providing the type of feedback is a very busy environment that we've been able to tweek and as well pass along to the developers so that they (software platform) can continue work on the project.

Over the next few days many of the threads posted in the NEWBIES forum will be looked at and moved to their more appropriate forums or areas as we begin to organize the content we have. The NEWBIES forum is designed for those seeking a flame-free forum to learn "How Do I" or "Can You Help? We have some addition content to link from here and hope you'll bear with us as we go through this process. Now, having said that, it may be a few threads are misplaced initially as we rummage through. Please accept our apologies in advance and it will likely take right up until March 1 for us to get to where we are comfortable. So thanks for the past, and thanks for the future.

    Looks good.

While you're at it, I hope you can consider the proposal for organizing photo topics, discussed in this thread.
I realize you don't want to create new forum areas at this time, but it could be a good time to get the content into one clean spot- a travel photography forum with two subfora, "photography discussion" and "photo sharing threads".

Randy, do you think we can try to avoid ALL CAPS thread titles? I know we did this in FT, but the sticky conveys the importance of the thread, and the capital letters are... unfriendly. :)

One thing interesting I've noticed, the url's to each post point specifically to the post itself, without including the path (i.e. the thread location), so when the posts move, the links to that post stay in place.
Also, the thread url's don't say which forum they are in, so again they are portable; links don't break.

    Look at these two examples:
    Code:
    http://milepoint.com/forums/posts/129568/
    http://milepoint.com/forums/threads/your-attention-please-thread-moves.3891/#post-129568

According to "Netiquette", using ALL CAPS was indication of shouting or screaming (see http://www.studygs.net/netiquette.htm or http://linux.sgms-centre.com/misc/netiquette.php). This comes from the history of Interenet. In old good times of text only when people used much slower connections than today but the actual speed was much better due to today's web being clogged by advertisements and unnecessary pictures.

As I mentioned in a previous post

To some of us of a certain age using CAPS (along with double spacing)

makes it much easier for US to read

A larger typeface would be very nice too

    Thanks for allowing OUR comfort

Your comfort shouldn't come at the expense of everyone else's.
I don't mind this too much with the posts but I like knowing which form a thread is in based on the URL. That is definitely a feature I miss over here.

    Larger typeface is easy.
On a Windows system, just hit control and the + sign together, each time you hit it the screen display zooms up a step.

In Firefox, there is a menu setting under view/zoom to make that only zoom the text and not the rest of the display. In Internet Explorer go to view/text size to enlarge the text.

That way you can change settings for your comfort without impacting the display for anyone else. Pretty neat, huh?

    And how

That's the best gimmick I've learned in a very long time

And I figured out (all by myself) how to reverse it

    Thank you
