Ddin't NW get fined for the same sort of stuff about three-four years ago?

Note the quote from LaHood. He's another of those geniuses that think anywhere near enough people are going to get on a train from Orlando to Tampa to make it financially viable.

I don't remember NW being fined, but that's another discourse.

But a more fundamental question, how will this effect the ADA act in general? In the past, airlines were exempt to a point. Why? What happens if evacuation is necessary? It is one thing to get people on and off the plane with assistance, it is something else to make a safety promise.

I know several handicapped folks who travel DL and DL has always been very accomodating to them.

    Strange.

From what I understand from FA & GA friends of my family; NW had a much more robust system for tracking pax who need assistance, especially the type of assistance with the ability for pax to request it from nwa.com. With the merger, Delta decided to use 'another' less sophisticated (PMDL?) system which has caused a few problems.
