    Had a CLE - IAH leg this past week. Two thirds of the passengers were in the Elite line. It was comical. I'll tell you what though those 2/3 got boarded and seated twice as fast as the rest of the plane. Good jobs travel vets

    Wait if 2/3 of the PAX were in one line, and 1/3 were in the other, it would seem much better to be in the smaller line. Thank goodness I have no status! Smaller line here I come!! :D

    Smaller line still goes after the bigger line though! :p

    Does anyone other than Continental service CLE? CO owns that airport as much or more than any other I've ever seen. It makes sense that a flight from a hub to a hub would have such a high percentage of elites.

    CLE is served by 7 soon to be 6 official airlines http://www.clevelandairport.com/Airport-Guide/Airlines.aspx , but CO/UA has majority of flights.

    Didn't realize USA3000 was gone. When did that happen?

    I need to be more careful when I'm being rhetorical in my writing online. I knew that there were other airlines there, but was ineffectively trying to make the point that it seems like CO owns the place. I truly do not know what percentage of flights they operate at CLE, but my bet is that it's over 70%.

    They do indeed own CLE at the preset time. Things might change in a few years.

    Remember, it is at this time of year when we have all those that qualified in 2010 who did requal in 2011, plus those that did qualify in 2011, and the early qualifiers from 2012.

    Sounds like one of those flights where it would have been faster to board the non elites first.

    <lol>

    BTW, since the NW/Delta merger we haven't had a reason or realistic opportunity to use CLE.

    My CLE-FLL flight a couple of weeks ago had so many elites they boarded them in 3 sections (although I was a lucky one in first:))

    Once on the Monday morning 7:00AM EWR-DCA flight, there was only one non-elite on the whole plane. The gate agent announced that since there was no chance on him getting a spot in the overhead, they would let him board first and then finish boarding by elite level. Everyone got a kick out of it.....might not have been the case with some of the "I'm better than you because I'm standing on the carpet and will be the first one on the plane" crowd we are merging with.

    They boarded faster since all those middle seater non-elites had to wait while the asle elites got up and waited for them to sit and arrange their stuff. Its also why I like the UA boarding system, granted when 2/3 is elite it doesn't help much
