    Hi,
Thinking of NYC-PEK and return from Shanghai.

If I buy two one way tickets it looks like I can get a layover in ORD each time. Is this correct? If I buy a round trip I think I only get one stopover. Chicago is one of our favorite cities and wouldn't mind stopping twice to break up the trip.

Was thinking of getting 2 one ways on my husbands account with a stopover on the way out and then getting 2 one way returns with a stopover again on my account.
    Is this permitted?
    Thanks
    PA

You get a stopover in each direction at the North American gateway city. There's no need to book one-ways for this.

Do these not count so that you can choose one additional stopover?

North American gateway cities are the only stopovers AA allows on non-Explorer Award tickets.
