Courtyard by Marriott Palm Springs -- noisy rooms, dirty, and really cheap beds. Used my megabonus certs there bad idea just a really awful property -- redeeming factor at least it was free was negated by snotty front desk that insisted on charging for Internet (as a gold I thought was free), room / tax, and some kind of breakfast that we never ate.

Call up the Marriott Rewards line and file a complaint. In my experiences, they are very good about resolving any problems, if at worst with some points to thank you for the fact that you are a returning customer and actually filing a complaint, because they dont know how bad these properties are unless you file a complaint.

    What could it hurt?

Most don't (hence why it's a bad redemption), but some have reported select Courtyards that do have breakfast for Gold & Plat.

Breakfast is not a published bennie at CY, and exceptions to that rule are few and far between.

However, I have NEVER stayed at a CY ( in recent memory) that i'net was not free. And the breakfast thing is odd too - you could not have booked a breakfast rate using those certs, so unless they have a signed brekkie bill from someone in your room, that charge is out of line, too. I also can never remember paying the tax on any room I booked using certs or award points...but I suppose that could depend on local ordnances.

If I were you, I would call Marriott Customer Care and discuss this.
