What's with the plural? Are there any other than the Golden Gate bridge?
a couple of repeats, but this article states some others to consider:
but to mention San Diego's Coronado Bridge & not San Francisco's Golden Gate is just wrong !!
Quite a few others: http://images.search.yahoo.com/sear...r=yfp-t-701&va=beautiful+bridges+of+the+world
I have a horrible problem with such lists, especially when there are so many beautiful bridges from which to choose. On this list my two favorites are Khaju, probably because that bridge evokes deep romantic feelings in me (a long time ago...) and the Helix in Singapore.
The Millau Viaduct is anotehr favorite of mine:
The Golden Gate is on my list too, just about equal with the George Washington Bridge connecting Manhattan with the wilderness to the West.
Then there are covered bridges galore, and what list could be complete without the Charles bridge in Prague.
Another one Iike:
Thanks ACMM for this posting. Although I am not a fan of top 10 list, I do enjoy the passion that they tend to awake in people's reaction to what made it on the list. Here for instance, some of my favorite ones have been mentioned by other MPointers, such as the Golden Gate, the Charles Bridge and the Millau Viaduct. So I will only add, the Rialto in Venice!
In the true spirit of MilePoint we'll soon have 110 bridges or more. I am resisting adding several more of my favorites.
I'll add the Santiago Calatrava designed Samuel Beckett bridge in Dublin, Ireland: [ for cars and pedestrians ]

As a bonus, as one of my personal favorites, the Ha' penny bridge equally in Dublin, Ireland: [ pedestrians only ]

This list on MP could grow and grow, bridges are inspirational indeed.
We can really go on for days here.....
Good ones uggboy, have actually enjoyed walking on them.
So, here is another favorite with a decent view...
Meh on the view!
Tower Bridge? Distinctive, iconic, but beautiful no.
More like clunky and weird.
We love the sight of the Tower Bridge, beautiful and unusual.
Ever since I first came to London in 2005, I've loved Tower Bridge! Was pleased to see it FIRST on the list!
I'll add to this, the Tower Bridge is fantastic!
The London Tower Bridge at the best angle plus the Thames as blue as the sky! ( April 2009 ). Daydream in London! by || UggBoy♥UggGirl || PHOTO || WORLD || TRAVEL ||, on Flickr
it is truly amazing how many people think this the famed london bridge until told otherwise.
thanks for some great info.
The Charles bridge is fantastic as is the castle on one side of it.
The London Bridge in......Arizona of all places. Lol
-- an attempt to woo them back into the commonwealth
One of these years (or decades) I have to take a little detour to Lake Havasu to take a look at that beauty....
Just make sure it's either spring break or summer, if you have to go to that god awful desert you might as well at least have some eye candy to look at while you are in the middle of nowhere.
Brasilia is full of architectural oddities, and some beautiful ones. This is the bridge over an articifial alke names after the Brazilian President who built Brasilia, Juscelino Kubischek
did just that on a solo motorcycle tour through the SW. One place on that trip that I never need to go back to is Laughlin NV, whoa boy what a depressing town, it is the town where folks that can't afford Vegas go to..
nice shot, I like the Olympic rings on it !
One of Tower Bridge today with a Chinese boat passing through.
