Awesome pool. I wonder if it can ever be said that this pool is overcrowded?

Visited the monstrosity in December. No lie: there was a pool security officer on a waverunner-like dealio and they have guards at the few entrance areas. Madness.

I think I would be a little nervous swimming/floating in that pool with several inexperienced vacationers zipping around on watercraft. Seems like a recipe for injury.

This is featured on the Travel Channel's "Amazing Pools." They talk about it and show pictures, IIRC also a bit of the construction.

They don't drain it for winter. IIRC it took several weeks to fill it just after it was built.

    Trained dolphins?

They'll dispatch the coast guard cutter.

    Two notable things for me:

    1) This pool is 115 feet deep (~35 meters) at the deep end. That is really deep. One of the indoor pools used for astronaut training is only 40 feet deep. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neutral_Buoyancy_Lab)
    2) The resort that it is part of sounds like crap. I know my kids would love a day or two at this pool, so I looked into the details. It sounds like the surrounding property is a low-end, unserviced condo rental setup - bring your own sheets and towels, etc.

It looks nice...at least the pool. I could imagine the area surrounding the pool being overwhelmed when everyone comes out of their flat.

Not much as to rooms or service.

Indeed, the caliber of the pool is not matched by the "caliber" of the rooms, which are as you said, apartments, it's not a real hotel IMHO, nor is it a "luxury" offering!
