Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurant is building a signature store in the new Love Field terminal. As a Dallas-based company, Dickey’s looks to represent lip smackin’ Texas barbecue in the expanding airport.

“We were born and bred in Dallas and so this is a natural choice for a signature store,” said Roland Dickey, Jr., president of Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurants. “The Love Field Modernization Program is exciting news for our company and the city of Dallas.”

I don't believe I've ever had Dickey's, anyone chime in as to quality & what cuts they specialize in?

Brisket & links have to be present if true TX BBQ.

Thought I would look them up and it seems we have two locations in our backyard:

    IL-Wheaton
    206 Danada Square W
    Wheaton, IL 60189

    IL-Orland Park
    15110-A South LaGrange Rd
    Orland Park, IL 60462

    Looks damn good!

I'm game, however seems there are only certain pockets of active Do geography with MPers, (just my observation).

TOBB does have a Kansas City BBQ Do going on this July, there is also an Austin Do in April that is BBQ eats heavy.

Sadly, as an AA EXP, terminal E doesn't help me much. But if folks say it's that good perhaps I make the trip on one of my longer layovers?

According to dfwairport.com, they are also located in terminals A & C, if that helps. I usually only go to E, so I can't verify or tell you more than that.

I've never eaten in one of their regular restaurants, but I'll say it's very good for airport food. I'll go there again.

Dickey's is a good standby for Texas Style BBQ and don't worry, there will be sausage and brisket on the menu.

Regarding DFW, is there still a Sonny Bryan's airside?

I love Dickey's and have been to many of their restaurants, including the original on Central Expressway. I have a couple of Dickey's stories if anyone is interested.

Not long after moving to Dallas from NY I went to lunch at a Dickey's on (then) Dallas Parkway. The guy running the line was one of the patriarchs, but I didn't know that. As I got close to the service point, I really had no idea what to order. He said, "What you gonna have, Bubba?" I assumed he was talking to someone else and looked around. He said, "I'm talking to YOU, Bubba".

A couple of years later, the same guy at the restaurant on Forest Lane (Ross Perot ate there all the time) says to me, on a day when my wife was waiting there for me, "Her eyes sure lit up when she spotted you coming". Talk about making me feel good.

They have real good sausages and beef, and I even like their chicken breast plate. I have not been in there at the airport but I'm confident it's good.
