    Woman gives birth on plane bound for Phoenix
    Mid-air delivery: Southwest Airlines passenger goes into labor just minutes after taking off from San Francisco. The flight is diverted to LAX, and the baby is born in the air.

    Thankfully, there was. And a nurse, too.
    A very pregnant woman who boarded a flight Tuesday in San Francisco bound for Phoenix went into labor right after takeoff.
    A doctor and a nurse who just happened to be on board came forward to help deliver the child as the plane was being diverted to Los Angeles, KTLA-TV reported.

    The baby arrived before the plane did.
    Los Angeles Fire Department personnel came onto the plane and treated both mother and child before passengers got off.
    Both are said to be doing well at a nearby hospital.
