Woman (42) arrested for conspiracy to commit FGM at Heathrow Airport
I had to look in order to see what FGM was. Having done that is it possible the writer could have used different phraseology than: "officers carried out an operation"??!!
I really had to work through the headline to determine whether the woman was arrested at LHR or if she was planning to commit the offence at LHR.
An amazingly barbaric act that is forced on way too many woman still.
Uggy posted in first sentence!!! " at Heathrow Airport, Scotland Yard said."
the Yard don't lie!
Sorry, but the correct way to phrase it is "A 42-year-old woman has been arrested at Heathrow Airport for conspiracy to commit Female Genital Mutilation (FGM)"
I realize the real issue here is FGM and not offenses against English grammar.
