MSNBC: WN raises fares, others expected to follow
My favorite quote from this story...
It seems that airlines are in the business to raising fares again!
I understand that prices go up.
But remember that every price hike affords the consumers an opportunity not to spend.
Mileage runs definitely seem tougher on UA/CO these days. It doesn't surprise me when I read their earnings reports and hear them talking about keeping an eye on fares.
And yet the planes still fly full, so they're doing something right. But Southwest has very budget-conscious customers...
There, I fixed it for you. Whenever I look at WN fares to see if they can beat UA, I rarely find a bargain. Is it surprising that their fares are only available on southwest.com (which makes comparisons more difficult or at least more effort)?
I know what you mean. I have to make this check every time I visit my future in-laws in Texas. They can't believe UA/CO has lower fares, but since they're paying for it, I have to give them some numbers.
