With the SWA comp pass, do you put more spend on your Chase SWA card?

    Hi All,

I'm about to receive my SWA comp pass, which I'm thrilled about. I have the regular assortment of CCs that most of us have. I'm just wondering if those of you who have the SWA comp pass put more spend on your Chase SWA CC since the points are now essentially worth 3.2 cents instead of the normal 1.6. I seldom put spend on the mileage earning cards, since I prefer the flexible points like SPG or UR, but 3.2 is hard to pass up.

    Thoughts?

    Thanks in advance

I use the Chase Sapphire rather than my Chase SW Visa for 2 reasons - 7% annual bonus is 2.14 miles/$ & transfer partners.

I didn't really put more spend on the card because I had plenty of points and needed to make spend for other reasons on other credit cards. It could be a good choice for you if there is more travel you would like and southwest can get you there. Chase points and amex points are nice for the flexibility, but flat out cent wise the southwest could do better.

My spend is INK, if I need the miles I can move them there.

Put the card away, and apply for another card.

iNG, Hyatt, Hilton, nice to have a room after you get there...

No, I use CSP or Ink and can move them to SW if needed.

If you prefer the flexibility of UR, the UR cards earn more and can transfer to southwest. Unless you're using the spend to qualify for the pass, I'd think earning more UR points is the better option.

Really, the points are still worth ~1.6c. The companion pass works great with cash, too. Or discounted SW GC's. Put the spend on a cc where you receive >2c/$ benefit.
