Is it my imagination, or has winter arrived again at HOM? Today I noticed some snow at the top of my MP pages. There's a big snowbank under the word "milepoint" with smaller drifts over the words "more" and "log out." Very nice, as long as the snow stays on my computer screen and off the roads and sidewalks.

IIRC it snowed last winter on MP also, but I think the snow went away in the spring. More seasonal touches, sort of like google does sometimes, would be fun if they're not too time consuming for HOM staff to implement. Perhaps Santa could arrive in a few weeks?

Aren't we forgetting that December means summertime to the southern half of the planet?
To say nothing about the many, many places even in the Northern Hemisphere which never seen snow...........

Thanks for noticing. Yes, a little snow for the general holidays, though here at the House of Miles we remain snowless for the season. We do have some plans for Googlelike touches to our scenery but shy away from being too gimmicky. As for Santa ... word is that he did an appearance at the recent Frequent Traveler University and handed out nearly $2,000 in charity codes for our members to help others via Milepoint Cares.

Now it looks like there's more snow than when I first posted this. I don't think it just looks that way to me because I see snow outside my window--in fact, lots of it!

Certainly not any snow on my screen or out my window. Although we did have our first white christmas in some large number of decades just two years ago.

You don't see the big snowbank under the word "milepoint" at the top of this page, in MP default style? And you don't see smaller snowbanks over the words "More" and "Log-Out"?

Nope. Although it occurs to me that the problem could be that I am restricted to using IE 8 because of work. I wonder if a more modern browser would make the difference.

Yeah we're using IE 7 (!) at work actually and I see the standard setup. At home or on the road with Chrome or IE 10 I see the snow doodahs.

Oh wow. IE 7 is ancient! I just keep getting annoyed by gmail and other various websites telling me that they don't support my browser and asking if I'd like to upgrade to something usable.

Well, now we know that IE provides a snow free zone. :p
    Slower browsing, but less shoveling.:D

I guess all those yankees who moved to South Florida must use IE.

The corporate world moves slowly... :)

Interestingly enough, we have alternatives (Firefox and more recently Chrome) at work, but IE continues to be the default. It won't die though... just like Windows XP. :)

Glad to see that you enjoy an occasional snowstorm.
