I have transferred from CO to Amtrak Guest Rewards (AGR) on 2 occasions. I hope the new UA/CO keep the transfer of miles to AGR in the future.

Me too. At the very least, I hope it's around long enough to move miles from UA to CO to Amtrak (before full integration). Although I haven't yet taken advantage of the transfer from CO, there's some fabulous redemptions available in the Amtrak program from a points per dollar perspective.

As someone who primarily travels on the west coast where trains are not generally a useful alternative, I'm not too familiar with this part of CO's program. Do you know if you can get CO miles for traveling on Amtrak out here or redeeming CO miles for Amtrak travel? I've been thinking of taking the train up to Vancouver just for the scenery.

Transfers go both ways, however they're most useful to those of us on the east coast, who can redeem 3000 co miles for a one way ticket up or down the northeast corridor. Considering these tickets can run $200, its a pretty good value.

  5. Also hoping Amtrak partnership continues here, as I ride Amtrak a lot on the east coast when I visit, and it would be extremely nice to be able to pickup rewards for things like sleepers by cashing in miles to points.

[IMG] Hahaha. For me it's the other way around[IMG]. The ability to transfer to CO justifies my status on Amtrak.

  7. And for me I hope the partnership continues so that I can continue to use my President's Club card at Club Acela, cleanest bathroom at New York Penn Station.

I agree that the 3000 points for the Northeast Corridor runs are a fantastic value. I hope they continue, but on the scale of it, I'd place it far below many other things that I want to continue.

I hope this continues too. When (if) life slows down a little bit for me, I'd like to do some train trips up the Pacific Coast and across the rockies. I've seen photos from both and they look great.

Another bump to this thread. I've seen a lot of updates about the new program, but still no info about Amtrak transfers. Have they made an announcement that I missed?
