I'm sorry to hear of your wife's diagnosis. However, I have no idea of the existence of any program that may be of assistance.

Why don't you check with the Luekemia & Lymphoma society (www.lls.org). They were quite helpful when my Dad was diagnosed. Sometimes the local chapters has a fund that they can use to help you with expenses, plus they usually have a very good support group.

everhart, welcome to Milepoint and my deepest condolences to you and your wife regarding the diagnosis. While I have not had to deal with them, you may wish to contact Cancer Care. They have programs for financial assistance, but you will have to check regarding qualifications. I believe they may also have information resources.

    I hope this helps.

You could try to contact outfits such as Corporate Angel that provide
"hitchhiking" on corporate jets for cancer patients and their families.

So sorry to hear about your wife...with regard to possible assistance, all the ideas presented above are good, and you might also consult with any support groups which may be in your area.

Sorry to hear about your wife's diagnosis. If there's a Social Worker in the hospital where she is being treated, they may have some ideas as well.

I wish you both lots of strength as you face the weeks and months ahead.

Another option is www.miledonor.com. Run by the same folks who run this site.

Best of luck to you and your family.

Yes. The American Cancer Society has a program where people donate miles, including Delta and specific to your needs, United. Those miles would be good on USAir, I'd think... who has a hub in Phoenix.

    John,
One thing I neglected to mention in my original post-as you and your wife travel down this path together, please make sure you take care of yourself as well....and be sure to avail yourself of any support which may be offered to you as well. I speak from experience--we send our best wishes and prayers your way....
