LINK Could Wichita become the latest city to rename its airport for a U.S. president? The Wichita Eagle says the city will appoint a committee to consider whether Wichita's Mid-Continent Airport should get a new name. High on the list of possible alternatives: the "Dwight D. Eisenhower International Airport." In its report, the Eagle writes "the naming advisory committee grew out of a one-hour debate at Tuesday's City Council meeting over whether to rename the new terminal or the entire airport after the nation's 34th president, a Kansan from Abilene." The Council's move comes after more than 1,500 people recently signed a petition advocating the name change, according to KAKE TV of Wichita.
