Why No SPG Luxury Option in Chicago?

    I'm curious why Chicago lacks a 5* or even 4.5* option from SPG
    NY has the SR
    DC has the SR
    Boston has the Liberty
    SF has the SR and Palace
    LA has the SLS

    Seems like it's time for SPG to add a luxury property. Maybe gut renovate the Tremont and make it an LC or something if they don't want to get in on any new builds.

    The SR/LC/W are all under the same Lux Brand @ SPG I believe

    The W was a former Holiday Inn. The other W is extra crappy.

    Possibly, but that's different from:

    They're definitely separate brands, regardless of how they're managed internally.

    None of the W properties in Chicago are anything close to luxury. Come to think of it, there are some really bad Ws out there

    I thought that about the Le Meridien in Atlanta. Would have been a HORRIBLE W... not bad at all as a Le Meridien. The high desks in the suites are very, very nice for tall workers!
