Is it just me? I don't see that they show up ont he "what's new" thread list.
This post did show up in the 'What's new' list for me.
I believe once you view the post it will no longer appear in the list.
+1 Indeed, I saw it in that list as well. And, like sobore says, once viewed it is gone from the list.
They do show up. However, posts for which you are "current" (that is, no new comments have been added since you last viewed the post) don't appear on the "What's New" page because, really, they're not "new" to you. One effect of this is that a post that you make will not appear on your own "What's New" page until someone else makes a comment on it, even though everyone else sees it on their "What's New" list.
Also note that you can "watch" any post, including your own. If you do so, you'll receive an alert on the menu bar when there's been a new post without have to hunt through the What's New page. To watch, use the option above the post, to the right.
And for folks surfing from the mobile app, the "Current" tab has the equivalent function of the "what's new" section. It also has a tab to automatically show updates in any thread you've participated in without having to watch them. A very cool feature!
Ok, now I get it. Thanks!
On the what's new page, you need to click on "all recent messages" if you want to see your own posts. Otherwise, your own posts won't show up (for you) on that page. This is true for everyone, not just newbies.
