...for checked bags to come out in Miami?

On a clear, normal evening, with no operational issues?

What gate did you arrive at?
Remember a high percentage of flights into this airport are foreign (with probably the highest number of flights from Latin America than any US airport) which often involves some extra customs scrutiny.:)

....thats why I'm asking! I fly in and out of MIA every week. The only reason I had checked bags was because I was returning from skiing.

Wow...same flight (another ski trip) and 51 minutes for my bags in MIA (from D 15). I’d be racking up miles on Delta with their 20 minute guarantee! Why is AA so incompetent?

It’s not any better in PHL. I always check bags. Normal time for bags on the carousel is such that. When after leisurely deplaning from coach, making a pit stop to refresh and strolling to baggage claim I’m usually waiting on average of + ten minutes.
That said it’s not just AA, it’s DL and UA also.
Could it be that they want everybody at the carousel to make it harder to have someone walk off with your bag.

Just landed in ORD on UA with a set of golf clubs (heading eventually to Arizona) and my suitcase and clubs and in the time it took to walk to baggage claim, both were already on the carousel.

Unbelievable as it may sound, my home airport KOA is the fastest one I know for bags even with the increased number of flights lately. The GAs are good but that airport desperately needs the refresh it is now getting.

....recent trip with checked to LaGuardia - wait was <10 minutes.

Travelling to MIA with checked bags this week....lets see if they can beat 1 hour!
