Why Can't You Book a Hilton Hotel Online, Much of the Time?

    Like right now for example, or when I tried a few weeks ago. HHonors leads you all the way through the booking process, then says the booking can't be completed due to technical difficulties. This applies both using a laptop with the IE or Firefox browsers, OR their mobile app.
    Last time the problem continued for several days. If I call to book by phone, I lose the 500 points for an Amex online booking.
    Can anyone shed light on this abysmal performance, and any workarounds?

    I've not run into this. It'd be worth trying the usual techniques, including (a) download a new browser you don't already have, such as Chrome, and try that; (b) deleting cookies, saved state, caches, plug-in data, etc. in your existing browsers, quit and relaunch the browser, and try again.

    I have run into this several times but have always been able to complete the booking by trying again or waiting a bit and reloading. Also doesn't seem to happen after I have tossed all of my cookies...
