Why B/E Aerospace Is Flying High

    Barron's
    April 5, 2014
    By Alexander Eule

As airlines look for more space, a big winner is B/E Aerospace, the world's largest maker of aircraft interiors.

This article, while business-oriented, contains many interesting gems about the airline industry, including:
    - the airline industry is flush with cash after 4 profitable years, with almost $13 billion profits in 2013
    - a typical commercial jet remains in service for 25-30 years
    - airlines are expected to make $5.65 per departing passenger in 2014
    - wide-body plane construction is expected to increase
    - super-first class units costs the airlines $250,000 apiece

Because their's is the only slimline seat that is remotely close to comfortable.

I'm supposed to be meeting with some of their people this week at the Airline Interiors Expo in Hamburg. Should be fun.

Aren't some of the seats designed by a designer of high-end car seats? (Not infant!)

Recaro makes seats for autos, too. And the seats Lufthansa Group and AA (among others) have on some of their planes.

Their premium seats can be great. Their slimline economy seats can suck horribly.
