As the title indicates my question is who has access to the blocked economy seats on LH flights?

More specifically, would a SAS *G member be allowed in any of those premium seats on the A380 as shown below?

I'm currently in seat 86D which is so far behind in the plane that I couldn't even grab it in a single screen shot :)

    Thanks in advance!

SirRagnar- don't despair yet-did you call LH and see if they could select your seat (preferred) as an SAS *G?

If that doesn't work- be sure to use OLCI at T-23:00:00 as you will surely get something better than 86D in any event.

    Good luck.

    I will try that, thanks.

Are they usually reserved for LH's own elite customers? Or can one pay for them?

No way to pay for them. I have heard of some other *G members getting access so I think it can be done as long as you have a nice(r) phone agent. Exit rows forget about (only SEN/HON).

Only SEN/HON have access to ASR.
    T-23 is probably different ?

I have access to ASR already, and I am not a MM member, but just not to the seats that are blocked for premium members.

One always have access to ASR on LH and in fact so much that we as SAS members often use lufthansa.com to assign seats on other *-flights, which SAS does not allow ASR on.

ASR on regional flights is limited to SEN/HON, all other flights the pleb can ASR. The P/V/Q seats in the front are reserved for SEN/HON and are also not released when OLCI opens. *G can sneak in when they call LH and ask for ASR. However this only works if Amadeus can establish your status. AFAIK it works with SK SB.

I had access to the blocked seats on the A380 as SK*G at online check-in 24hrs before the flight. I've noticed that I can also access the blocked seats on Intra-EU flights.

Have not called yet - only just got it e-ticketed today, but I'll call them on Monday to see if I can - or if I have to status match myself first to get it :)

Hopefully you don't have resort to a status match for that! Remember also that I think LH enforces a "one status match lifetime only rule"- so I wouldn't waste it on this. If you OLCI at T-23 you should be safe in any event- it is always surprising to me how many people don't do this given the advantage of having a better seat.

So many people just think a seat is a seat and don't bother with it. It also amazes me, but the more that think like that, the more exit row and bulkhead seats for us :)
