I am flying J class on LH from YYZ to DME with a connection in FRA. I am also Star Gold.

I want to shower and freshen up before my flight to DME.

I need suggestions on which lounge to use.

    Thanks for the help.

You have the lovely Senator lounge in "B" of course- I would pop in there and grab a shower. If at all possible- can you upgrade to F and then get to use the FCL B? I think also with Aeroplan points you can upgrade now.

My LH 471 flight ex YYZ is a two class 340. :( I appreciate the suggestion.

Right- well I find J on LH to be adequate- and YYZ is ~8 hours so it will be fine.

Another question.....it is a reward flight using AE.....I don't think you can upgrade to F.... ? It would be a double upgrade.

Reward flight- no not possible to upgrade-OPUP can happen from I>O- however I have only seen this with M&M members- anyways as a two class aircraft nothing to worry about- you are correct.

Book for the shower as soon as you enter the lounge. That way, you've got time to mosey around, grab a beer and relax before your name gets called. You'll be impressed with the lounge, for sure.

Try the Welcome Lounge if you have the time - no need to wait for a shower and much nicer breakfast than the SEN lounge.

One suggestion: The OP is flying YYZ/FRA/DME- so clearing Passport control 2 times for the Welcome Lounge may not be the best idea.

Depends on how long the layover is, but the experience in the Welcome Lounge - from many more showers to better food - can make it worth the couple extra stamps in the passport. I'd say any layover of 3+ hours would be worth it unless the additional stamps would be an undue burden on the passport book.

    The layover is 3 hours.

Where exactly is the Welcome Lounge?

Well, it's up to you. If it's after July 5th a new SEN lounge in Pier B may be open. Good luck.

I agree with the OP- to clear passport control for the Welcome Lounge is a bit much.

I've cleared FRA passport control multiple times by accident (FRA is just kind of that way, you know).

It was just extra stamps, wasn't arduous and hours of waiting. I have a ~5 hour layover in FRA in a few days. I suppose I could do the FCL based on my HKG-ZRH flight, but I think I will do the Welcome Lounge instead, maybe even go into town for a bit. (I also have to go from LH ZRH-FRA to AB FRA-TXL, so it's a T1->T2 transfer).

It may depend on the length of the queue at passport control, but I'd rather go through passport control than security at FRA any day following my recent experience re-entering B non-Schengen. Having arrived from the UK no further security check should have been necessary but the layout of FRA does not allow it.

If the OP wants to shower without having to wait for his turn, the Welcome Lounge is worth going through passport control IMHO.

If the choice is between the FCL and the Welcome Lounge I'd definitely go to the FCL. The Welcome Lounge is nice but cannot beat the FCL.
