Which Airline Has the Grumpiest Employees?
I hate the Delta employees in Atlanta but find them generally ok elsewhere.
I hate the Continental employees in Newark but like them in Boston.
Otherwise, I can't generally find consistent trends even within stations.
It seems that it's not a contrast among corporate cultures but rather
an industry-wide culture, one of whose tenets is "thou shalt be inconsistent."
Whichever airline Alec Baldwin is flying. Putting up with him would make anyone grumpy.
I've heard several horror stories about CA and CZ employees yelling at passengers.
LAX- on the ground, with an honorable mention going out to OGG
SFO based- in the air
In response to previous comment about CA and CZ. I find Chinese airlines, they do bark more often if passengers do not listen to them but if you obey, no different than any other airline employee.
Must be everyone else's airline because I haven't experienced it on mine.
Same can be said for Liam Gallagher!
United employees in Honolulu. Ticket counter especially.
I base my comments on the spectrum of contact with an airline, from telephone reservations to airport staff to flight crew, and I must say, on balance, United tips the scales for US based carriers with the grumpiest gits working for them. I nominate British Airways for the same honor in the non-US carrier category. Conversely, I think the most consistently pleasant US airline staff (until now) work for American Airlines, while on the international front it's Singapore Airlines.
You're kidding, right? Or never been on the mainland.
I don't travel as much as most of you (I assume), but the only unpleasant encounter I've had with an airline employee was with a US-based BA call center employee who got very snippy with me when I called to ask if a reservation I made through Expedia (before I got into FF miles) made it into their computer system. Every other employee of an airline I've dealt with has been, at worst, civil. A few have even been extremely pleasant and helpful.
