for luxury travel
Everyone's idea of "Luxury Travel" is different. For you it may be 5 star hotels. For me it may just be Hilton Garden Inn. For you it may be Etihad First Class, for me maybe Econ Plus on United.
Your question cannot be answered.
I was just asking a question about what hotels do people visit. Whatever you call luxury is fair game If you call hilton luxury that is just as fine as someone calling the four seasons. But do not confuse luxury as the same as upscale.
I'm going to the Bahamas on a cruise ship soon and then to Mexico City for the Formula 1 race next month. Not luxury but sort of to me.
I like Asia because your dollar goes far and the service is usually exceptional. I like Banyan Tree, Oberoi, Taj, and Aman resorts, but there are many great ones.
For me, it's a one night layover at the Hilton in Addis Ababa (not nearly as nice as the Sheraton, but...) on my way to my December work site.
