 What happened? It's quiet here. The world without vociferous DL apologists is a little disturbing to the status quo...

Did you all switch to UA overnight and push me into the back with your corpo-M-fares before you abandoned DL Milepoint? Aargh! Hopefully not!

Meantime, I will contribute to our board by restoring a sense of normality.

Over there, someone asks: "Is Delta fixing the award calendar tonight?"

Someone else posts..... "Try MEM-FCO-BCN-MEM in Spring/Early Summer, in Coach for LOW. I work on this every day, using the one-way search, going from MEM-???-???-FCO, and so on, and so on, for every city possible. If I am willing to make a 4 leg trip each way, the least DL could do is only charge me 30K each way."

    ---------

Beavis! Huh! Uh huh huh! He said....

    Yeah! Yeah! FCO!! FCO!!

Yeah! Like...PHL! PHL to FCO!! PHL to FCO!! 635k!! Not all of which was in J!

    Muahahahaha!

Gonna PM the poster with the details.

And.... I must fly DL again next week. More on that later...after 24k miles on Star this coming week.

Hopelessly clicking away on the new and improved delta.com, desperately trying to find .... well, pretty much anything. What a cluster.

Probably waiting in the sky priority lane behind a bunch of zone 1ers because the GA called SKY zone and zone one at the same time.

Bump. Time for a statement of orthodoxy to ensure you're awake...

I logged onto DL.COM and just tried booking an SM award from PHL to FCO, 7/6-7/16 (same dates as for the globally-notorious redemption attempt in 2010) and it offers me mixed Y/J for 235,000 SM. A real bargain, you might think. And you do. And you click on it. But even at this ridiculous mileage level, DL.COM returns its usual argument...

We're sorry. One or more of the flights you selected just sold out. Please search again to view and select alternate flights.

Muahahaha! If I actually wanted to use DL SM, this system would reduce me to a frenzy of frustration. But I don't. So I can reiterate Jeff's mantra:

DL SM are [IMG] best in class [IMG]

    Any disputers? :)

    Yeah! Connect! Via FCO!

F.C.O.!!! Uh-huh! FCO!! FCO!! YEAH DUDE!

But it was gonna be...like...a zillion SM!

Yeah! Yeah! It's gotta be! And then! He said it! DUDE! IN WRITING!

He said it!! Uh-HUH!! He really said it was:

    [IMG]BEST IN CLASS [IMG]

Muahahahaha! Damn this is so amusing I can't get any work done!

At least FCO is a nice airport....until you deal with the baggage wait.

Seriously, are you bound ONLY to FCO? I would suggest alt cities in Italy. Have you thought about Naples, Venice, Florence and take a train down?

Oh well.......Let's here it for the good old days.

Bump. Very shortly, I'm going to none other than....

    FCO....

but obviously, not using DL SM. Actually I am using a combo of Avios, MP and purchased BA tix. You know that when you prefer to buy BA's product, the competing FFP must be truly [IMG] best in class [IMG]

It certainly is best in class. But unlike the legendary FCO redemptions, at least that itin contains no sectors in Y and it terminated in JNB which is thousands of miles further than PHL-FCO.
