Last January we were stumbling over each other in the SFO AC. This is my second visit this week and no sign of anyone. Granted there's not triple status miles in play this year, but are you all planning on flying to retain status? I always stack a lot of flights in Jan/Feb, so pretty typical for me to be flying this time of year. Should also add I'm 100% on upgrades so far. Connecting flight shows two passengers in F if it holds.

That was me last year, doing 5 runs from Austin to SFO pretty much back to back. But without the triple promotion, it's a slow start. Trust me, I'd be there otherwise!

Even without the triple miles, it doesn't seem like there are many good deals to be had (plus, I'm still primarily on UA ;))

I'm flying to Hartford today for $180. F is wide open. Only 30 passengers on my DFW-BDL. Just boarded. Paid the same for Tampa. I bought these back in October. No competition for upgrades this year-- last January there were a lot of flyers in coach.

Yea, when I looked at SFO-BDL/TPA/FLL close to the end of last year, I couldn't find dates that worked for my schedule :(

Bumpy ride into DFW as we avoided thunderstorms and did a 360 near Little Rock to slow us down. My SFO flight still listed as on-time and aircraft should be on the ground here at DFW. Nice to be able to check AA website for free, while en route, to check my flight status.

Wonder if this an indicator of consumer and business confidence in how the leadership is handling the economy and fiscal deficit.

There are a lot of cheap fares out there... not much demand for travel, eh?

I've noticed a lot of sale fares the last week on US and UA that AA hasn't matched. The deep discount fares on AA are getting harder to find from SFO. I was lucky to jump on the ones I saw in October.

Should add my flight coming back from BDL was packed.

No interest in the BA fare sale out of SFO to AMM?

Perhaps people are a bit more skittish on deciding what to do with AA for next year?

No..I'm more of a Europe person and I'll do ground time if I go that far. Have 11 days in Germany and Austria next month.

Maybe a good portion of last January's flyers won't fly without a promo.

Back when I was with UA, I always made the trek up to SFO from San Jose. The many non-stop flights (and cheaper prices) made it worthwhile. But with AA, I almost always have to connect at DFW, so after bypassing SJC for years, I now fly out of SJC whenever possible. I take the bus to/from the airport ($2 each way), so I don't have to worry about driving and parking fees. I do miss the AC at SFO, though!

I'm still flying this month, but haven't seen anything good BOS-SFO on AA, and I guess I missed that SFO-BDL (I might have driven to BDL for that fare). SFO is one of my favorite cities and airports so I'd jump at a chance to go back there.

not seeing the great deals out of ORD like I did last Jan. If I was doing any kind of business travel to help w/my status, I probably would be stacking during 'the cheap time' of year but alas I do not.

for me I'm going to try to keep EP, but I booked some SQ F (now R :) ) during the glitch so I've been enjoying myself in warm Asia. I do have some trips planned on AA (mvd and bcn) in the next few months but will buy more.
Hope to meet u in the AA lounge one of these days.

I have a lot of upcoming AA trips: 2 more each to TPA and BDL, 4 nights in NYC, 3 nights in DCA, and then the 11 day trip to Germany/Austria next month. Might do Ireland when AA starts up again in April. That currently prices at $828, about the bottom of the market in SFO-Europe fares these days.

Do you do TPA and BDL as turnarounds?

I'll be there Jan 20 and 27, but I'm inbound in the 20th so no AC stop unless I'm waiting on someone else from work.

My flying this year starts tomorrow and I already have 21 paid AA segments on the calendar through Feb 15th, plus two award trips (Hawaii and Tulsa) and a Southwest flight to Florida for a week and a half at the beach over the summer.

I will be in SFO AC on Feb 3rd from about 10am - 11am (arriving the day before).

In SEA last weekend, LAS this weekend. But most of my travels are to LAX on AA transcon nonstops over the next 2 months.
I wll be at 30K EQM by mid Feb. I don't think we will see any DEQM promos.
